Music of the Knight

For his 30th birthday, family and friends clubbed together to get Nicholas a new piano. This went some way to counteract the existential crisis brought on by the inexorable passage of time!

Laden with responsibility and the appropriate funds, Nicholas and a musical friend went on a quest to the Bath Piano Shop to make the important selection. There he failed to be tempted by the tones of Yamahas and Kawais, but was entranced by the Knight. Ours being a colourful house, Nicholas eagerly took up the shop’s offer of a painting service. Thus, several months later, a vibrant Knight robed in green arrived in our home.

We thought we should make a video to celebrate. Nicholas chose this seemingly obscure but beautiful set of miniatures, the sheet music for which he inherited from his grandfather. An appropriate choice to accompany the story of this piano winging and wheeling its way to its new home:
