Bio

The story of my career is one that intertwines my love of both the sciences and the humanities, and my motivation to provide a service. I studied for my undergraduate degree in History at York. After I graduated, I worked as a care worker and then for the police in various roles. I returned to academia to gain an MSc in Data Science and then a PhD in Health Data Science. I am now a research fellow applying artificial intelligence to medical imaging. I am grateful for my variety of experiences, as they allow me to frame my scientific research in a real-world human-centred context.

My own personal context is this: I grew up in Hertfordshire, and met my physicist/programmer husband at university in York. We moved to Devon after we got married, and now live happily on the edge of Dartmoor. We enjoy walking, reading, playing music, playing games, and coding together. With his encouragement and company, I am always learning and trying new things. You can find more information about me on the other pages of this website, and more information about Nicholas on his website.
